California Roll

Ingredients you will need for your California Roll

  • 1 1/4 cup prepared sushi rice
  • Fresh avocado, sliced into thin strips
  • Crab or imitation crab sticks
  • Hot house cucumber, peeled, seeds removed (using a spoon) and julienned
  • Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
  • Unseasoned nori (seaweed)
  1. Sprinkle your toasted sesame seeds and place just over 1/2 cup of rice into each side of your So Very Culinary SushiToob
  2. Make a depression using the plunger and generously layer in your ingredients.
  3. Close, clasp and cap your SushiToob
  4. Tighten your roll by turning the plunger about five turns and gently tamping the plunger.
  5. Remove the cap, line up your SushiToob with your sheet of nori (glossy side face down) and push the plunger through.
  6. Roll up the nori sheet adding a little water to seal the end.
  7. Let your California Roll rest for about 5 minutes and then slice with a sharp knife taking care to clean the knife before each cut.
